How to Enjoy the Philadelphia Marathon without Breaking a Sweat
Picture of How to Enjoy the Philadelphia Marathon without Breaking a Sweat

If you’re in town Nov. 8-9, chances are your weekend is going to be impacted by the Philadelphia Marathon. With 30,000 runners racing through almost all corners of the city, including right by your Dalian on the Park apartment, the massive marathon will be hard to miss.

So instead of sitting in traffic or encountering blockades, why not just join the fun? All the coveted bibs for the marathon have already been given out, but there are lots of ways to still enjoy the race (and you don’t have to spend months training!).

Cheer Zones

Grab a chair and head out to one of the zones designated for fans. For the half-marathon on Nov. 8, hang out near the finish line at Sedgley and Kelly drives, about six blocks from your Dalian of the Park apartment. Enjoy live music and get to see all the action up close. The next day, head down to the Benjamin Franklin Parkway, about two blocks from your Dalian on the Park apartment, to catch the start of the race beginning at 5 a.m. Until 9 a.m., cheer on the runners as they fly past Caffeination, six blocks from your Dalian on the Park apartment, where fans will be making signs and pumping up the racers with the live music. Park yourself by the finish line at Kelly Drive and Spring Garden Street, three blocks from your Dalian on the Park apartment, for the grand finale.

Health & Fitness Expo

Throughout the weekend, stop by the Pennsylvania Convention Center, one mile from your Dalian on the Park apartment, for the annual Health & Fitness Expo. The event features the latest running apparel and accessories, as well as official Philadelphia Marathon merchandise.

Meet with reps of running companies and clubs from around the region and learn about the latest health and fitness trends impacting runners.

Even though you’re not running this year, the expo gets you geared up to put your best foot forward for 2018.
