Local Mexican Food: Buena Onda Tacos
Picture of Local Mexican Food: Buena Onda Tacos

Who doesn’t love Mexican food these days? With popular American spots like Chipotle making Mexican food more famous than ever, fans of flavors from south of the border are discovering a relatively new and absolutely delicious stop for tacos, guac, and other awesome and spicy bites.

One of the newer members of the locally well-known Garces Family of restaurants, Buena Onda Tacos is Philly’s spot for affordable eats in an upscale but fun setting. While you are free to pick any tacos you choose, if you can, you should definitely go for Buena Onda’s famed fish tacos. They’re one of their most popular!

However, Buena Onda does not just serve up tacos. The expected pairings of quesadillas, guacamole, salsa, and nachos are met with more unique offerings such as Buena Onda’s pear and spiced pecan infused Kale Salad, Tofu chorizo, and their well-loved smoked tuna dip.

While Buena Onda cares about the taste of your eats, they also place a major emphasis on sustainable practices. From the yellow perch caught sustainably with trap nets in Canada, Pennsylvania, and New York, to composting and recycling; from using local beverage companies like Yards, to the cool Buena Onda t-shirt and gear produced by eco-friendly apparel company, Jetty, Buena Onda shows major concern for creating big flavors and keeping a small eco-footprint.

Buena Onda, located at 1901 Callowhill St, is a 5 minute walk from Dalian on the Park. For more a full menu and more details on Buena Onda Tacos, to their website.
